As part of UKRI STFC follows the UKRI H&S Policy. In the federated model for H&S that UKRI has established, a suite of high level UKRI SHE Codes to address the diverse H&S challenges found across UKRI as a whole have been established. The UKRI SHE Codes can be found on this page alongside their STFC equivalents. In a federated model STFC retains responsibility for H&S with its own H&S management systems and SHE codes which govern how STFC manages H&S. The STFC H&S Management Arrangements is the keystone for STFC’s SHE Management system.
STFC Health and Safety Management Arrangements
This document outlines the STFC's objective to provide and maintain, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for its staff, together with effective management of Health and Safety risks. SHE Group have produced a 'BiteSize' training package to introduce the Health and Safety Management Arrangements for staff and new starters
BiteSize STFC H&S Management Arrangements.
Underpinning this document the STFC has developed SHE Codes describing the controls for managing major H&S hazards. STFC SHE Codes can be found in the 'Codes' section of the
STFC SHE website.
